After completing an M.A. in Printed Textiles at Central St Martins, the fabric I produce has led me to work with shops such as Heals and Mint on a range of cushions and accessories. I have also been involved with interior design projects for hotels in Brussels and Prague. More recently I have worked on a large scale fabric installation for a luxury yacht, and T-shirt designs for the high street.
Having trained in traditional silk screen printed textiles, I like to employ handprinted techniques whenever possible, although I regularly use digital print methods.
I like to use an eclectic range of imagery and source material amd I am inspired by the colour palettes and trends in fashion which gives my work a more contemporary feel.
I sometimes use popular culture, film and music as a springboard for ideas and imagery; this is then translated into colour and shape which starts the design process.
I have taught textile design for over ten years and am currently teaching on a series of print workshops at Nottingham Trent University.
